SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS HISTORY

The San Francisco 49ers along with the Dallas Cowboys are the most successful National Football League (NFL) franchises in the history of the (NFL). The San Francisco 49ers have won all five Super Bowl they have appeared in. Having the distinction of not having lost in any Super Bowl they have appeared in. The Super Bowls they won in were; XVI, XIX, XXIII, XXIV, and lastly XXIX. The San Francisco Home Stadium is known as Monster park.  The San Francisco 49ers Uniform colors are Red and gold.  The helmet design is Gold with intertwined "SF" in White on Red Oval. The San Francisco 49ers were founded in 1946 as part of the all American Football Conference and later joined the National Football League in 1950. The San Francisco earned its name from the surge of gold miners to the San Francisco area during 1849, thus the nickname the San Francisco 49ers.

The San Francisco 49ers have the honor of being referred to as the team of the eighties, due to their influence that decade by winning four Super Bowl  titles. The San Francisco 49ers Being part of the All-American Football Conference reached the AAFC Championship game in 1949. San Francisco returned to the postseason in 1957 as part of the National Football league, under head coach Frankie Albert. Dick Nolan arrived in 1968 and built up an elaborate defense, and the wisdom of quarterback John Brodie helped San Francisco reach the playoffs for three straight seasons beginning in 1970. Bill Walsh became head coach in 1979, Walsh and rookie quarterback named Joe Montana piloted in an era of unprecedented strength and success for the San Francisco 49ers.

Walsh won coach of the year honors for steering San Francisco to 13 regular season wins and a victory over the Cincinnati Bengal's in Super Bowl XVI. Carrying San Francisco into the Super Bowl was a last-minute touchdown pass from Montana to Dwight Clark that resulted in an NFC championship; it became known in football history as "The Catch." The following players of the San Francisco 49ers were  inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame,  Bob St Clair, Bill Walsh (head coach), Joe Montana (Considered the best Quarterback in the National Football League (NFL), Montana became the only player to win three Super Bowl Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards, Leo Nomellini, Hugh McElhenny, Y.A. Tittle, John henry Johnson, Bill Walsh Jimmy Johnson, Dave Wilcox and lastly Joe Perry. The San Francisco 49ers are one of four team that play in the Western Division of the National Football League (NFL).
